Despite the ups and downs of the smartphone market in 2020, Apple is preparing to announce the new members of the iPhone 12 family. According to rumors, all devices can rely on OLED screens, something that appeals to the public.
However, Apple still has some problems to solve in its supply chain. The main one is to get rid of Samsung's total dependence. Recently, the Cupertino giant even sought out the Chinese BOE in a survey to see the company's production capacity.
Now, everything indicates that Apple's main ally will be LG. That's because Korean sources have confirmed that the company is ready to deliver 6.1-inch OLED screens for the iPhone 12 model.
LG has managed to reach the level of quality required by Apple and has also expanded its production capacity. The company must take orders for the iPhone 12, that is, the direct successor to the iPhone 11.
As much as LG does not confirm the matter, the company has been preparing to take a slice of Apple's orders. However, the South Korean does not yet have the capacity of the industry leader: Samsung.
Therefore, the giant should take over the production of the screens for the new iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. The Chinese BOE is also in the "queue" in search of becoming an Apple supplier. However, the company has not yet reached the ideal quality level.
so far BOE's OLED screens have shown low yields with insufficient quality. Therefore, Apple can only stay with suppliers Samsung and LG.
For now, Apple does not confirm the information. Therefore, everything should still be considered as just another market rumor.
