Don’t Starve is a famous survival game with peculiar look that makes great success in computers. The title is already a franchise, having received a special version to play with friends, with all games in the series already ported to mobile platforms. However, developer Klei Entertainment decided to create its own mobile experience with the announcement of Don’t Starve: Newhome.
The new game seems to keep most of the mechanics seen in the rest of the saga, but has as main differential multiplayer and social elements. There aren’t many details about the gameplay yet, but the teaser released still elements of grassroots creation, and great resemblance to MMOs.
The most curious, however, is the fact that Newhome is not being developed by Klei, but rather by the studio Shengqu Games, responsible for titles such as Dragon Nest and The World of Legend, and one of the collaborators in the development of Fallout Shelter. The publication will be made by Tencent, PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile.
The game is not yet expected to launch, but already has a closed beta planned to take place in July, unfortunately only available in the U.S. and Canada. The registrations for the tests require an email from Apple, for iOS users, and a Gmail, for owners of Android devices, considering that developers will make use of the testing systems of the stores of mobile operating systems.
Just this week, kokonut studio launched Chaves Kart, a new mobile racing game with strong inspirations in Mario Kart for Android and iOS, but which makes use of the characters of the famous Mexican series. In addition, ARM has announced that it will follow in Qualcomm’s footsteps and will begin making driver updates of its Mali GPUs available through the Play Store.
