This Friday (26), Flamengo confirmed the display of their next game in the Carioca Championship by their official Channel on YouTube, if there is no judicial impediment. The match will be against Boavista, next Wednesday (1st).
The decision came after the new Provisional Measure that determines that the client is exclusively entitled to negotiate his rights of transmission. However, this has already generated a war in justice with Globo.
Understand the case
The station bought the broadcast rights of Carioca until 2024, with agreements signed with 15 clubs and Ferj. However, Flamengo was the only team not to agree to the contract and leave without his signature.
The president of the club, Rodolfo Landim, would have asked – in a meeting last month with president Jair Bolsonaro – that there be an MP to change the determinations of the Pelé Law on each match need the signatures of both the client and the visitor for the broadcast – what happened last week.
On the other hand, Globo has already positioned itself that the decree does not invalidate the contracts already signed and in force at this time. As the channel has an agreement with Boavista, Flamengo would be prevented from adopting the change in legislation at this time.
Both have already resorted to justice to enforce what they consider to be legal, but there is still no definition in the case.
View by FLA TV
The transmission by YouTube – if it happens – would be made on the channel FLA TV, the official of the Club of Rio. Flamengo still tries to make the same signal possible through the team’s Facebook page – through which the Libertadores already displays – but there is no certainty so far.
