Steven L. Kwas, a retired US Air Force lieutenant general, said his country has a technology that can transport people to anywhere in the world in less than an hour.
The former military officer was speaking at the "The Urgent Need for a U.S. Space Force" conference held at Hillsdale College in Washington, USA. Russia Today.
Kwas hinted that the US Army and its industry partners have already developed state-of-the-art technologies with the potential to dramatically change the aerospace field.
This development "can be built today with [non-experimental] technologies to get one person from anywhere on Earth to another in less than an hour," he said, realizing that this revolutionary technology could make existing aerospace capabilities and tools obsolete.
The former military official also said that the United States Army should increase investment in space technologies, given the progress of other countries in these areas, such as China.
In this regard, Kwas proposes that the United States take on a stronger role beyond the Earth's boundaries to secure the economic dominance of the United States.
"The power of space will change world power forever," he said.
