Logitech discontinues Harmony Express universal control a year after its …

by ace

Logitech announced today that it will discontinue Universal Harmony Express control, one year after its launch. Created to be an easier option to use than more robust models without giving up features such as support for Amazon Alexa. According to the company, the accessory did not meet the planned initial expectations.

Logitech Harmony Express will end support on September 30, and from that date it will stop working. Users who have acquired control will be able to request a refund, however it is necessary to prove the purchase, or even replace it with the Harmony Elite, a high-end model that has a built-in screen and settings application for smartphones.

According to the Engagdet website, one of the possible reasons that led the control to be discontinued would be its high number of limitations. The accessory is not able to request the reproduction of films and series, only the opening of apps. There is also no compatibility with voice commands on Apple TV or Roku TV, requiring users to keep standard controls close at hand, not delivering on the promise of versatility.
