Several objects that belonged to the famous Portuguese poet will be auctioned, in April, by the Palácio do Correio Velho, in Lisbon.
According to Observer, several personal objects by Fernando Pessoa, belonging to a private collection of the poet's nephew, Luíz Miguel Rosa Dias, who died last year, will be offered for sale.
Among the personal belongings are four pairs of glasses, a mouthpiece with a case, some desk material, several books and a desk. However, highlights the online newspaper, this piece of furniture is not the famous dresser associated with the “triumphal day” of the creation of heteronyms (this is part of the Casa Fernando Pessoa collection).
The auction, organized by Old Mail Palace, in Lisbon, would happen next Wednesday, however, due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, it was postponed to April.
“Palácio do Correio Velho informs that, given the current public health emergency, and because it is a company with an activity open to the public in the execution of exhibitions and auctions of works of Art, the Administration decided to close all its activity until March 30, when we will reevaluate the situation depending on the state of the country and governmental instructions ”, informed the auctioneer, quoted by the newspaper.
