After many rumors, leaks and speculation, Xiaomi has finally confirmed the release date of the long-awaited Mi Band 5. In an official post sent through WeChat, the Chinese giant announced that the smart bracelet should be presented on June 11.
The image released by the company confirms the name of the bracelet and the date, but does not reveal many details. Even so, taking into account everything that has already been leaked, we know that the Mi Band 5 has a larger color screen, reaching approximately 1.2 inches.
Now, when it comes to design, renderings released in the past few weeks indicate that we will not have drastic changes in the look. The biggest highlight is that the company smoothed the curves. See the image that confirms the launch day:
Another important detail of the new bracelet from the Chinese is that the international version should finally have support for NFC. This should facilitate and expand payments by approximation.
As we know, one of the biggest focuses of the Mi Band has always been the health of the user. Therefore, in addition to adopting the traditional heart rate sensor, Xiaomi must follow the example of other companies and release the measurement of blood oxygen.
Mi Band 5 should add new activities: yoga, elliptical, rowing, skipping rope and exercise bike. This should bring sports modes to 11 options. Women will also have a way to track their menstrual cycle.
Finally, "panned" information in the Mi Fit code reveals that the Mi Band 5 must also have XiaoAI voice assistant, night mode and screen capture trigger. In the case of the international version, the app makes it very clear that the integration will be done with Amazon Alexa.
